In the mornings, piano player Michael Lacey tickled the ivories near the entrance to the America’s Center. He’s a local who plays New Orleans Swing.
Three local musicians played jazz and swing near the AAAS registration area in the afternoons. (Left) On the trumpet, Randy Holmes; (Center) Terry Thompson plays guitar; and on the bass, Dave Troncoso.
The famous St. Louis Arch is 630 feet high and considered the Gateway to the West. And for my first trip to St. Louis, I had to take a picture. Last night, I attended a party hosted by the St. Louis Science Writers at the City Museum. The Arch is cool, but the museum and aquarium are amazing! Take their online photo tour and if you can visit, wear comfortable shoes so you can climb through all the sculptures and multistory slides.
